As head of Merchandising, I was responsible for the retailer's $200M product assortment in 40 stores, online, and in-catalog. Managing the Buying and Product Development teams, I ushered in a roster of international product and designers resulting in a 47% increase in demand.
DESIGN WITHIN REACH: Textile Sourcing
When it came time to revamp the company's entire upholstery category, we turned to a third- generation family run mill in Lake Como, Italy. The mill has been producing exceptional textiles for over 60 years by blending cutting-edge technologies and artisanal techniques. The project, which was rolled out in all DWR stores, resulted in nine new textiles in 42 colorways and ranged in composition from sturdy cotton to luxurious velvet and handsome alpaca wool.

Heavily influenced by the streets and shows of Paris and Milan, I attended Maison de Objet and Salone de Mobile for over a decade to procure product and bring luxury European goods and global designers stateside.

As Buyer for Design Within Reach's functional accessories concept stores, I curated an assortment that celebrated smart design in everyday objects from cookware to desk sets to Dutch wool poufs. The $5M business was one of the first modern-day general store concepts to celebrate objects that both solve a problem and make life more enjoyable.

I created a new revenue channel for this movement-based lifestyle brand by developing a product assortment as well as the marketing strategy and execution to support its launch. I traveled the globe to curate a collection that both echoed the founder’s brand mission and celebrated ethical and sustainable craftsmanship from around the world.
